I've posted my interpretations of the lyrics for "Soft One", "Morning Light" and "Awful Dream" at 49music.net, however there are still a few blanks there. Any idea on what he might be saying there?

The site's down, it won't be back up for a few days yet. The lyrics are saved in the site's database and I don't have them on my computer. I'll let you know when the site's back up, though.

Dear questioners,

The easiset way to find out the lyrics is to buy the album in the store or at a show. Thanks for checking it out.

sincerely,

Matthew Barber

I'm listening so "Soft One" right now and to tell you the truth, I have no trouble understanding the lyrics.

Good point, nerd rock. nerd rock keeps me honest.

Hmmm, well I suppose if anyone has any specific lyrical quandaries they can email me directly and I promise to clarify things.

Thanks,

Matt

p.s. myself and the Union Dues are taking a break until the new year - thanks to everyone who came to a show over the last few months. But if you want some good-times and live music and you live in the Toronto area come to the back room of the TRANZAC club (Brunswick just south of Bloor) this Saturday Dec. 10 for A LIVE COUNTRY CHRISTMAS with Live Country Music. Free with a non-perishable food item. Show starts sometime after 10.

Good job keepin' the man in line nerds... Big Grin

And Matt, I'm so disappointed I'm going to miss the Live Country Christmas... I had been invited to that too... If I didn't have to judge the Santa Claus Parade for the office, I'd be there... But I'm missing nerd rock's Xmas party on the 20th too... Frown

Hope your holidays are splendid, and hurry up and come play on the rock!!!!

Raissa

Speaking of lyrics, Matt, can you clear up the bit towards the end of We're Gonna Play.

From "I'm a fool to be bitter..." to "and I'm lovin' her more and more"

BTW, heard We're Gonna Play used as background music in a commercial for some Global tv show. Falcon something.

"I'm a fool to be bitter when I wise up and consider that my girl lives practically next door, and I'm lovin' her more and more"
